A stone-built barn annexe for two, tucked into 40 acres of conservation farmland near Beulah, Powys — quiet, dog-friendly, and built for slowing down. One double en-suite, a snug living area, a proper kitchen for self-catering, and a garden patio looking straight into the fields. From here, the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) and the Elan Valley are both within easy reach.
Why we love it — It’s the kind of place that rewards slowing down. Cut paths wind through meadows humming with bees, red kites drift overhead, and by nightfall the Milky Way is genuinely visible from the patio.

Our criteria
What makes a stay nature-friendly.
We’re a small directory on purpose. Every stay here has been chosen because it sits somewhere genuinely rural, its hosts look after the land, and it rewards the sort of holiday where you slow down enough to look at things properly — a wildflower meadow, a hedgerow full of song, an unpolluted sky. If a place trades on hot tubs and luxury extras rather than the land it’s on, it isn’t for us.
