About this product
Quick Patch is a straightforward repair mix for horse paddocks: two perennial ryegrasses for speed, creeping red fescue to fill in the base, and a small herb component. Use it to green up gateways, feeding areas and bare patches quickly.
Suitable for donkeys?
No. The mix is around 85% perennial ryegrass, which is too rich for donkeys. For repairing donkey paddocks, use our ryegrass-free Second Season Paddock Overseeder.
How to use it
- Loosen bare or compacted patches with a rake or harrow
- Sow at 7kg per acre (14kg covers about two acres of overseeding)
- Roll or tread in and keep horses off until established
Frequently asked questions
Can I use Quick Patch on a donkey paddock?
We don't recommend it. It is mostly ryegrass. Use Second Season Paddock Overseeder instead.
How much ground does one bag cover?
A 14kg bag overseeds about two acres at 7kg per acre.
Will it grow in a muddy gateway?
Only once the ground is workable. Loosen the surface, sow and keep animals off; persistently wet gateways usually need hardstanding.
How fast does it establish?
Typically two to three weeks to visible cover in warm, moist conditions.
