Cornfield Annuals Wildflower Meadow Mix
£34.80 – £6,960.00Price range: £34.80 through £6,960.00 inc VAT
Cornfield annuals are the original British arable wildflowers โ plants that thrived for centuries in cultivated ground before modern herbicides largely eliminated them. This mix brings them back. Five native annual species establish quickly in disturbed, cultivated, or freshly turned soil, delivering a vivid display of colour from May through to October.
Unlike perennial mixes, cornfield annuals complete their lifecycle in a single season, setting seed and dying back. They work best on sites where ground is cultivated each year, or as a fast first-year display while a perennial meadow establishes underneath. They’re well-suited to allotment edges, construction sites, ex-arable land, and garden soil that has been recently dug.
Sow at 3g per square metre into freshly disturbed, low-nutrient soil in spring (MarchโMay). No cold stratification needed โ these seeds are designed to germinate in spring conditions. Heights range from 20cm to 80cm. For best repeat performance, allow seed to set and ripen fully before cutting.
Sourced from UK farms. 100% native annual wildflowers.
Chamomile, Corn (Anthemis arvensis), Corn Cockle (Agrostemma githago), Cornflower (Centaurea cyanus), Marigold, Corn (Chrysanthemum segetum), Poppy, Common (Papaver rhoeas)
