Native Grass Seed Selection

Price range: £38.40 through £6,960.00 inc VAT

The Native Grass Seed Selection is a carefully chosen blend of fine-leaved, non-invasive grass species suited to UK conditions and compatible with native wildflower establishment. The mix includes Hard Fescue, Slender and Strong Creeping Red Fescue, Timothy, Chewing’s Fescue, Smooth-stalked Meadow Grass, Sheep’s Fescue, Tall Oatgrass, and Meadow Foxtail.

These grasses form the structural sward matrix of a traditional hay meadow โ€” they are non-aggressive species that coexist with wildflowers rather than outcompeting them, provided soil fertility is kept low through annual late-summer cutting and cuttings removal. They provide year-round ground cover, improve soil stability, and create the layered habitat structure that benefits ground-nesting invertebrates and small mammals.

Use as a companion to any of the Wildahome 100% wildflower mixes to build a full grass-and-flower meadow, or as a standalone grass establishment mix for conservation and habitat projects. Suitable for most UK soil types. Sow at 3โ€“5g per square metre alongside wildflower seed, or up to 8g per square metre as a standalone grass mix.

Sourced and selected for UK growing conditions. Non-invasive, low-maintenance, wildlife-friendly.
