Acidic Soils Wildflower Meadow Mix
£34.80 – £6,960.00Price range: £34.80 through £6,960.00 inc VAT
Acidic soils โ heathland, moorland edge, upland grassland, and sandy lowland heath โ need a mix matched to their chemistry. Most standard wildflower mixes don’t establish well in low-pH conditions. The Acidic Soils mix is built specifically for this ground, with native species that are naturally adapted to it.
Predominantly perennial, this mix builds slowly into a stable, long-term sward with real habitat value โ good for specialist pollinators including many bumblebee species that favour heath and moorland plants, as well as birds and invertebrates. It pairs well with a 60/40 blend alongside our Traditional Meadow mix where more height and visual impact is wanted.
Sow at 3g per square metre into exposed, scarified, low-nutrient acidic soil. Avoid liming before sowing โ maintaining low pH is essential to species success. Autumn sowing suits this mix well. Expect gradual establishment; the mix comes into its own from year two.
Sourced from UK meadows and partner farms. 100% wildflowers โ no grasses included.
