Cornfield Annuals 80/20 Meadow Mix
£19.50 – £2,227.20Price range: £19.50 through £2,227.20 inc VAT
The Cornfield Annuals 80/20 mix combines fine native grasses with a 20% native annual wildflower component โ the traditional arable species of Poppy, Cornflower, Corn Chamomile, and others that thrived in cultivated fields before modern herbicide use. The grass component adds structure and ground cover alongside the vivid annual colour.
Best suited to disturbed or freshly cultivated soils โ ex-arable land, construction margins, allotment edges, and garden ground that has been recently dug. The annual wildflowers establish quickly and flower from May to October in year one. The native grass component fills in around them and provides a longer-term sward on sites where cultivation is not repeated each year.
Sow at 5g per square metre into freshly disturbed, low-nutrient soil in spring (MarchโMay). No cold stratification needed. Heights range from 20cm to 80cm. Allow seed to ripen before cutting if repeat flowering is wanted in subsequent seasons.
Sourced from UK farms. 100% British native species.
