General Purpose Wildflower Meadow Mix

Price range: £34.80 through £6,960.00 inc VAT

The General Purpose mix is a practical starting point for anyone who wants a British wildflower meadow without needing to match seed to a specific soil type. Twenty-three native wildflower species, both perennials and annuals, give a long flowering season from early spring right through to October.

Heights range from 10cm to 100cm, making this mix well-suited to garden borders, roadside verges, amenity grassland, and smaller land parcels where a varied, low-maintenance display is the goal. The species composition draws in bees, butterflies, hoverflies, and seed-eating birds across the season.

Sow at 3g per square metre into a firm, weed-free seedbed with exposed, low-nutrient soil. Spring (Marchโ€“May) and early autumn (Augustโ€“September) are both suitable sowing windows. Mix seed with silver sand for more even distribution. Expect the best display from year two onwards as perennials establish.

Seeds are sourced from Wildahome’s own meadows in Devon and Powys and from UK partner farms. 100% wildflowers โ€” no grasses, no cultivars.
