Hedgerow & Banks Wildflower Mix
£34.80 – £6,960.00Price range: £34.80 through £6,960.00 inc VAT
Hedgerow edges and sloping banks present a specific challenge โ partial shade from overhead canopy, variable moisture, and often disturbed or compacted soil. The Hedgerow & Banks mix is selected for exactly this ground, with native species that tolerate dappled shade, establish on slopes, and provide good wildlife value in one of Britain’s most important habitat corridors.
The mix supports hedgerow insects, nesting birds, and the invertebrates that depend on hedgerow structure for part of their lifecycle. It works well along field margins, garden boundary slopes, road embankments, and the base of established hedges where grass competition is lower than open ground.
Sow at 3g per square metre into scarified, low-nutrient soil. Spring or early autumn sowing both work. On steeper slopes, firm the seedbed well after sowing to prevent seed wash. Avoid mowing the base of hedgerows during the first two growing seasons โ let the mix establish and set seed before cutting back.
Sourced from UK meadows and partner farms. 100% wildflowers โ no grasses included.
