General Purpose 80/20 Meadow Mix
£19.50 – £2,143.20Price range: £19.50 through £2,143.20 inc VAT
The General Purpose 80/20 mix is the grass-included version of our popular general meadow mix. Fine native grasses make up 80% of the blend, forming a structured meadow matrix into which 20% native wildflowers establish. The result is a traditional hay meadow character โ lower growing, more stable, and better suited to sites where a long-term sward is the goal.
Suitable for most soil types, this mix works well for garden meadows, amenity grassland, school grounds, and community spaces where a naturalistic grass-and-flower combination is wanted. Heights range from 30cm to 100cm. The wildflower component supports bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects across the season.
Sow at 5g per square metre into a firm, scarified, low-nutrient seedbed. Spring (MarchโMay) or early autumn (AugustโSeptember) are both suitable windows. The grass component establishes strongly in year one; wildflowers build from year two. Manage with a single late-summer cut, removing cuttings to keep fertility low.
Seeds sourced from Wildahome’s own meadows in Devon and Powys and UK partner farms. 100% British native species โ no cultivars.
