Wetland & Pond 80/20 Wildflower Mix
£19.50 – £2,146.80Price range: £19.50 through £2,146.80 inc VAT
The Wetland & Pond 80/20 mix combines fine native grasses with a 20% native wildflower component, all selected for performance in wet or seasonally flooded ground. The grass matrix provides structural stability in soft, waterlogged margins where erosion can be an issue, while the wildflower content adds ecological value for wetland invertebrates and birds.
Suited to pond edges, ditches, boggy hollows, rain garden margins, and stream banks where a structured, permanent sward is the goal alongside wildflower habitat. The mix establishes well in the naturally low-nutrient conditions typical of wetland soils.
Sow at 5g per square metre into exposed, scarified soil. Keep the seedbed moist through establishment. If sowing close to open water, leave a buffer strip. Spring or early autumn sowings both work. The grass component establishes first, with wildflowers building from year two. Manage with a single late-summer cut and remove cuttings.
Sourced from UK meadows and partner farms. 100% British native species โ no cultivars.
