Snowdrop Bulbs (Galanthus nivalis)

Price range: £16.80 through £6,960.00 inc VAT

Snowdrops (Galanthus nivalis) are among the earliest wildflowers of the British year โ€” pure white nodding flowers emerging from late January through to March, often pushing through frost and snow. These bulbs are sourced from trusted UK growers with over two decades of experience, ensuring genuine British provenance and reliable establishment.

They are at their best naturalised in drifts beneath deciduous trees, along woodland edges, in shaded borders, and in grass that is left uncut until after the foliage has died back in late spring. Once established they spread steadily by offset and seed, forming dense colonies that increase in display value year on year. Galanthus nivalis carries the RHS Award of Garden Merit.

Plant in autumn at 5โ€“8cm depth in moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil. Partial shade is ideal โ€” snowdrops tolerate full shade under deciduous canopy but struggle in full sun and dry ground. Plant in drifts of 10 or more bulbs per square metre. Do not disturb established clumps unnecessarily โ€” snowdrops resent being moved except immediately after flowering, while still in full leaf.

Sourced from UK growers. UK native species, genuine Galanthus nivalis.
